AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who plays as a striker and captains for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the top division of women's soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team alongside Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from the year 2018 to 2020. [8][9] Morgan was chosen by the Western New York Flash at number one in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had graduated from Berkeley early. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut at the club and helped the team win its league championship. Morgan, who was 22 at the time, was the youngest player of the national team in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, in which the team finished second. Morgan scored the match-winning goal against Canada in the 123rd minute of the semi-final at the 2012 London Olympics. The 2012 season ended with 21 and 28 goals. assists as she joined Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and give 20 assists within the same calendar year , making her the sixth the youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in a single season. After being named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the year Morgan was also selected as a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan played a key role in helping the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup. She was named to both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
